Uma Mahajan, 2nd Year PhD Student, umahaja@clemson.edu.
Uma is investigating the the interaction betweenF. tularensis biofilms and Culex mosquito larvae. She has successfully defended her proposal defense and last May presented the first part of her research at the National American Society for Microbiology Meeting.

 

Jon Gravgaard, 2nd Year MS student, jgravga@clemson.edu.
Jon is also investigating the interaction of F.tularensis biofilms and aquatic mosquito larvae but from a more ecological perspective. Jon recently had a paper accepted at Florida Entomologist on some of the techniques he helped develop for this project.

 

Tara Raftery, 2nd Year PhD Student.

Tara is investigating the interaction of metallic nanoparticles and biofilms and the potential use of these nanoparticles for removal of contaminating biofilms. Tara will be presenting a portion of her research at the International Nano2010 meeting in August.
