Current Undergraduate Students

Spring semester is over - new students are joining us and some are moving on. It's been a productive semester and we're hoping for a great summer! We welome Zach, Ashley and Thomas to the lab. And congratulate Tim as he graduates Clemson and moves on to University of Pittsburgh to enter the Masters in Public Health Program.

David Jacobs, senior microbiology major, jacobs6@clemson.edu

David's third year of research in the lab will continure to focus on examining changes in biofilm bacteria under various environmental conditions using more molecular techniques such as 2D gel electrophoresis, and host cell interaction assays.

Zach Garrett, senior, dzgarre@clemson.edu

Zach joined the lab in May 2008. He will be focusing on screening our F.tularensis library for mutations which affect twitching motility and biofilm formation. Welcome Zach!

  Ashely joined our lab this summer to gain experience in working in infectious disease research. Welcome Ashley!

Thomas has joined the McNealy Lab for the summer 2008 to conduct his departmental honors research project. Thomas will be screening our F. tularensis library for defects in magnesium transport and involvement in biofilm formation. Welcome Thomas!
